Day or Night, Capture Better Footage with the Phasm Cam
If you're not familiar, Phasm Cam is a 4K full spectrum and night vision recording camera for ghost hunters. It's built to see infrared and ultraviolet by design. In short, it was designed specifically just for low light use and it does a bang up job of it. To do this, the video camera was designed to take in as much light as possible for superior low light performance. As such, on its own, daylight shots can be overexposed and look 'pink'. Why? That's the infrared and ultraviolet from the sun overstepping visible light.
You asked. We listened. That's how we roll.
Now, we have a solution to make more use of Phasm Cam - in low light and daylight. Many have requested a way to use it for normal light shots as well. So, we came up with Phasm Lens for a quick way to convert from night vision to daytime use.
How to Use Phasm Lens
Just push the Phasm Lens on top of the Phasm Cam lens. Push it all the way on for a snug fit. Now watch your image go from full spectrum to normal light with ease.
The lens should be snug on its own. For a more secure fit, we've also included a small screw you can use for tightening. Over time with much use or temperature changes it might become necessary to use the tightening screw.
The resulting daytime image may still have a slight coloration. For details and sample photos click the 'Directions' tab above.

The Phasm Lens is intended to convert Phasm Cam to a normal-light camera for daytime use. Inherantly, Phasm Cam is built for optimal low light use. As a result, when using in daylight the picture gets overexposed and 'pink'. This lens is intended to filter out what is needed to help the camera see typical visible colors like the human eye does.
Just push the Phasm Lens over the Phasm Cam lens. It will slide in place for a snug fit. Now watch your image go from full spectrum to normal light with ease.
For best results push it down as far as you can. This will help reduce most 'vignette' effects on the outer edges of the picture.
NOTE: Remember to take this lens off for low light use so Phasm Cam can do the job it was meant to do. If you keep this lens on for low-light situations you may not see anything. Since this lens is filtering out a ton of light including IR and UV, your picture will be super dark.
Sample Shots - What to Expect
We have done our best to create a lens that allows for a quick and easy conversion. Though minimal, this conversion may still show a slight color variation due to the nature of the lens curvature on the camera. This lens is mainly intended to be helpful when you need a quick swap for normal light uses. In certain lighting, there may always be a minimal 'greenish' hue shift to the right and left edges. See the sample photos for examples of what to expect.
We did our best to keep this as less intrusive as possible. When in PHOTO Mode, this effect is less noticeable due to a different aspect ratio. If you need better coloration you can adjust the color in an editing program. Otherwise, if you need a perfect daylight image, we suggest using a camera truly purposed for that.
Securing the Lens Fitting
The lens should be snug on its own. For a more secure fit, we've also included a small screw you can use for tightening. Over time with much use or temperature changes it might become more necessary to use the tightening screw.
DO NOT overtighten the tightening screw. Just tighten enough to keep the lens from slipping off. No more! Keep in mind that under that screw is a stack of sensitive lenses on the camera. Overtightening could result is cracking - and a destroyed camera. Obviously, that would be bad. So be gentle.
Keep the lens clean and protected for optimal imaging.
