Ghost Tour Guide & Equipment Sales - Part Time (Lynchburg, VA)
We’re looking for a Ghost Tour Guides who can also run the GhostStop retail shop for our Historic Downtown Lynchburg, VA location.
Here's your chance to work with GhostStop and crew, renowned for our work in the field of paranormal research for over 16 years who work closely with TV shows, films, documentaries and researchers worldwide.

Help share spirited stories, preserve Lynchburg's historical events and be the voice of those spirits who cannot.
Our tours will be run by GhostStop who have spent decades investigating the paranormal around the world. Now, we're coming to Lynchburg. As veteran ghost hunters and pioneers in the field, our ghost tours are something a bit different. We have a passion for the paranormal, can relay our own experiences and evidence we have gathered over the years.
Do you have a passion for the paranormal with a healthy dose of history and lore? Do you love true crime, spooky stuff and the weird side of Lynchburg? Then you’re our kind of people.
Position Details:
- Retail shop sales and customer service: Saturday and Sunday, daytime
- Ghost Tours Friday and Saturday, evenings
- You'll run the shop during the day and then take groups out for tours to end the night.
Requirements:
- A passion for the paranormal and a healthy respect for history and lore.
- Basic knowledge of ghost hunting equipment is quite helpful.
- Retail experience is helpful.
- Someone with a good memory who can remember and relay our ghost tour script with enthusiasm in front of a group of people.
- Good storytelling and understanding of the events outside of the script - able to improvise, answer questions in an educated fashion.
- Must be comfortable walking and on your feet for 1-2 hours leading a group on your own through the downtown area. It's also known as Hill City for a reason. Tours are about 1 and a half hours covering less than 1 mile in length.
- Must live near Lynchburg, VA area with no transportation issues. We have to be able to rely on you being here.
- Tours are generally Friday or Saturday nights, 2-4 times per month (more often in Fall). Flexibility to include an occasional week night for private tours, by special request is helpful.
- Must be 21 years old or older because some tours may include stops inside restaurants and bars.
Prior spiel and entertainment industry work is a plus. Prior knowledge of Lynchburg history is a BIG plus. Have you investigated downtown already? Even better.
