Great Light January 30, 2013
Reviewer: craig from Everett, WA United States
I liked this light so much I bought 3 of them. Yes the battery life is short however you can use them plugged in. If you are on the move you may have to buy a few like I did so when one is out you can quikly turn on another one. They are light and can link together. If only they could make the battery last longer. I am working on a solution to the problem. If I figure out a way to increase batt life I will update.

Sima IR light August 12, 2011

This light is def worth getting as long as it's strickly for using w/ a digital still camera, W/ the short battery life on it, it works great if it's only going to be used for that purpose, use with a camcorder would be a bad idea, still very bright, got some nice bright pictures taken with this last night, and looking foward to using it on my first hunt

SIMA August 1, 2011
Reviewer: Jacob Roerden from Cashmere, WA United States
I've used these many times now.  I have one of the older models, which barely lasts 45 minutes to an hour if you're lucky.  But these newer models that are for sale now last much longer.  I've had them on for an hour and a half and longer and they don't die.  I'm not sure how long they last, but they are definitely worth your money.  I recharge them right away after an investigation so they're good to go when I need them since it takes a few hours to get them ready.

These light up nicely though.  I hook up three together right now with the interlock design until I get more, and then I'll be hooking up even more.  If you have a few of these hooked up to your camera, night vision outside is really nice.  I'm going to love attaching even more onto it for really bright tripod video.

Get the most out of your old Sony Hi8 camcorder. October 23, 2010
Reviewer: John from San Antonio, TX United States
The ir illuminator on my old Sony CCD-TRV98 Hi8 is weak, and I needed to increase the nightshot of this camcorder. This is an ideal product for it and others without a hot shoe because of the included bracket which mounts on the tripod hole. When I first put the bracket on the camcorder I was dissappointed. I wanted the bracket to go out at a right angle with the length of the camera, but with the ir illuminator on the end the LCD would not open fully. So I change the angle of the bracket so the illuminator would be behind the LCD screen (as you are looking at the screen), but aimed forward. Disappointment gave way to delight as a flood of ir light filled the area and I could see everything in front of me in total darkness in my LCD screen.

(2 weeks later)
It worked great, but it doesn't last long. After 90m of use, the battery gave out. I recharged it in the field. After charging for a few hours, I began using it again. 40 minutes and it was out.
